Pressing
plays Old School Hardcore with a "very hard" edge to it. Our songs are under
un-hidden influence of: Gorilla Biscuits, Youth Of Today, Madball, Agnostic Front, Token
Entry, Unison and many other great bands... The lyrics say about typical political and
social themes but there are lyrics about the
HC scene as
well.
We started off in February of '99 under the name The RingLaws,
but the idea of forming up a band was present couple of months earlier. After finding the
proper equipment and practicing space the band started working. The line up consisted of Djole
and Pjevac as vocals, Andrej on bass, Dejan
and Igor on guitar and Laza on Drums.
Suddenly, NATO Aggression interrupts everything and the band gathers up again after three
months. The original line up didn't manage to last long enough so Pjevac and
Andrej left the band. Andrej was later replaced by Fipa.
This line up recorded their first demo in July '99 which contained 5 songs and was
self-released.A shorter pause follows and Igor, the guitarist, leaves the band due to
musical disaccords. The remainig four members decide to continue and in November 1999.
they record na EP called "The Struggle Begins" which was actually an extended
version of the older demo.
Soon, Igor's replacement, Bassara is introduced and the band holds its first, legendary
gig in Novi Sad's club venue Atrium. But, Pressing again becomes a quartet due to
Bassara's problems at school and decides to stay that way, recording two more demos which
were incorporated into a new EP simply called "Competition". With this EP
Pressing established its name all over the country and gained quite a reputation on the
local hc scene.
In November 2001. yet another guitarist becomes a member, yet another called Igor.
Pressing's sound now evolves into something originally powerful and orientally influenced.
As the preliminary arrangements for recording of a first full-length were done, Pressing
finally recorded their first full-lenght containing 10 new songs in January 2002. We are
still looking for a label to release this CD.
